Black Copper Marans chicks.

Black Copper Marans chicks will be available in Spring 2010, and we will hatch chicks to order. Upon order, we will collect and incubate eggs for you and the chicks will hatch in 21 days. The cost is $10 per chick with a minimum of 5 per order. We require a 50% deposit upon order, which is non-refundable if you decide you don’t want your chicks. If you are interested, email me. I cannot determine sex at hatch, so these chicks are sold as STRAIGHT RUN only. “Straight run” means that you will get some hens and some roosters. Statistically you will get 50% of each sex but it can vary, according to what Mother Nature decrees.

Please note, I cannot ship live poultry so they must be picked up locally, or I can drive a reasonable distance to meet you if you purchase 10 or more.

Our delightful doe, Petunia, is giving us so much delicious milk that we sometimes have extra. we use very strict sanitation practices when milking, and we enjoy drinking fresh, raw goat milk every day. However, under California law we are not allowed to sell raw milk for human consumption, as we are not a licensed dairy. We can sell it as pet food, and it is excellent for most all critters as goat milk is more digestible than cow’s milk. It can be used to bottle-feed orphaned babies. $3 per quart, $5 per half gallon.

Kefir Grains:

If you don’t know about kefir, a cultured/fermented milk, visit kefirlady.com or Dom’s kefir site. If you already know about kefir, I don’t need to tell you! These grains came direct from the Kefir Lady and have been cultured only in fresh raw goat’s milk. $10 gets you ¼ cup which will make about a quart of kefir a day; they will grow quickly. I can ship kefir grains for $2.50 additional.

We almost always have extra roosters of various kinds, so if you need one, just ask!
